ECTOPIC NAIL-CORRECTION OF LOSS OF FINGER NAIL WITH ECTOPIC NAIL TRANSPLANTATION

Abstract

|
Although various anomalies occur in nail, ectopic nail is very rare. A 20-year-old korean woman, who was suffered from the entire loss of Rt. middle finger nail following crushing injuries, was found to have a small ectopic nail at the fibular aspect of the distal phalanx of Lt. greater toe in 1984.
The ectopic nail was free transplanted for the correction of entire loss of Rt. middle finger nail.
Author report one case of ectopic nail, which was presented few case in the literatures, and reviewed the reports concerning finger nail reconstruction.
